What is SUFC (Spain)?

Founded in May 2008 and based at Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca, the SUFC (Spain) football programme was originally conceived as an -based programme founded in conjunction with Sheffield United Football Club. More recently, it has now evolved into a totally self-reliant football programme, where players of all nationalities and abilities can enjoy the very best in football coaching and education.

What are the benefits of joining SUFC (Spain)?

Aspiring footballers at SUFC (Spain) are offered a unique development opportunity with the very best in training methods delivered by qualified coaching staff in both English and Spanish language. Representative teams from U10 to U19 compete throughout the season in both the Valencian Football Federation and Vega Baja football leagues, as well as taking part in a variety of high-profile tournaments against La Liga opposition during Easter, Summer and Christmas breaks. Links with a number of high-calibre Spanish clubs offer a pathway into the professional game for the better players. There are also Easter and Summer Camps available across the region, open to registered players and holiday makers alike.

Who can join the programme and what are the expectations?

SUFC (Spain) is open to all footballers aged 8 – 18 years. From the moment they join, players are taught how to best represent both the club and themselves, on and off the football pitch. To succeed, players need more than talent alone – they need commitment, respect, discipline and determination, and we firmly believe that these life skills will stand our players in good stead for the rest of their lives.
